What I’ve learned so far as an Intern
If you're reading this, then you're probably wondering who I am, and what I'm doing lurking around. I'm Eric Fowler and I'm the new intern here at IMP Canada. If you're a student who's looking for an internship, you'll be interested to know just what the interns get to do here! Here's what I've learned already in my first week so far:
IMP Canada does a lot of content writing, and I'm part of that process. I help to write blog posts, informing the public about new goods, deals, or just general education and tips. I'm also learning about SEO copywriting and how keywords can affect search engine rankings. But that's not the only thing IMP does.
IMP Canada both designs and maintains a lot of websites. They design functional sites for small to medium sized clients. A website needs to have good, quality content and updated information. IMP Canada is always making sure they have the latest updates for the website they manage. They also incorporate SEO strategies so that users can find a client's site easily. IMP Canada also helps to get your businesses out there.
Social media is a big thing these days, especially for businesses. With things like Twitter and Facebook, you can get immediate feedback from your customers and tell them about special deals and events you might have going.
An internship is a great way to gain knowledge and experience. Do you want to see and learn firsthand how blogging, social media, and website SEO all contribute to the marketing process? Then consider an internship here at IMP. I did, and I look forward to seeing just how far the power of writing can go!
